I didn't expect it to be the skirt.
I thought it would be something more practical — the dress, maybe, or one of the simpler pieces. The skirt felt like a commitment when I ordered it. Knee-length, black gloss, fitted through the hip, made to my exact measurements by the team at Form Latex. The kind of thing you buy with a specific night in mind and then wonder what you do with it the rest of the time.
Turns out, quite a lot.
It's been out more than anything else in my wardrobe. Not because I planned it that way, but because it keeps being the answer to the question of what to wear. That's not something I expected from a latex skirt. It's not something I would have believed if someone had told me before I owned one.
The thing about the weight of it

It photographs differently than it wears
In photos, the gloss catches everything — light, shadow, the angle of the room. It looks like a statement. In person, especially once you've worn it a few times, it just feels like clothes. Good clothes, clothes that fit properly and hold their shape and don't need adjusting, but clothes.
That gap between how it reads and how it feels is part of why I keep reaching for it. It looks like more effort than it is. That's a useful quality in anything you own.
The made-to-measure part matters more than I thought it would
I've worn latex pieces that weren't made to my measurements. The difference is not subtle.
