I almost didn't wear latex that night.

The adjustable straps meant I could actually get the fit right before I left the house, which sounds minor until you've spent twenty minutes in a cab trying to fix something that was never going to sit correctly. The V-cut neckline does the work of elongating without needing anything else around it. No jewellery. No layering. Just the piece.
The frill sits at the waist — hand-finished, structured enough to hold its shape through a full evening, soft enough that it moved when I moved rather than staying rigid and strange. That's the part that's hard to photograph and harder to fake. It either behaves or it doesn't.
I got there. I had a good time. I didn't think about what I was wearing once I arrived.
That's the version of dressing I'm interested in — where the piece does its job and then gets out of the way. Not every outfit needs to be an event. Sometimes you just want to look exactly right and then forget about it.
The high-cut leg helped with that too, for what it's worth. Lengthens the line, keeps the silhouette clean. Nothing to adjust, nothing to second-guess.
